The 87-year-old Texas resident’s home was damaged by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. But, unable to afford her insurance deductible, she lived in mold-ridden conditions for 5 years until UMCOR came to her aid. “I thank God that UMCOR came my way,” she says. “It’s a tremendous blessing from God…. I had no idea that people like this existed apart from in the movies.”
